Workshop on Chhou Dance : Kolkata

From 5-7 August 2024, a three  workshop on Chhou dance was organised  by Folk and Tribal Cultural Centre, the Information and Cultural Affairs Department.The workshop was held in Lokogram, Chhit-Kalikapur, Kolkata. Hon'able Minister Sri Indranil Sen was present in the workshop. 50 folk artistes from the districts of Howrah, South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, Hooghly and Purba Bardhaman participated in this workshop. Trainers of the workshop was Jodharam Kumar, Jaladhar Bauri, Sushanta Mahato and  Somnath Mahato from Purulia and Thakurdas Mahato from Paschim Medinipur who instructed the partixipants on different styles for performance. Three musixians were present to accompany the participants while practicing.
