On 15 August 2024, a colourful programme was held for the celebration of Independence Day in Red Road, Kolkata. Folk artistes of different folk forms like Bauls from the districts of Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, Purba Bardhaman, Nadia and Birbhum, Adibashi Nritya from Jhargram district, Chhau Nritya from Purulia, Bairati Nritya from Coch Behar, Kukri Nritya, artistes from Tamang community, Sherpa community, Lepcha community, Limbo community and Bhutia community from Darjeeling, Bhawaiya Nritya and Gaan from Jalpaiguri, BonBibi Pala from South24 Parganas, folk artistes of Rajbanshi community from Coch Behar, artistes of Onraon community from North 24 Parganas, artistes of Santhal community and Bhumij community and Lodha community from Paschim Medinipur districts, representatives of Matua, Bagdiand Bauri community participated in the celebration programme. In total 470 folk artistes participated in the celebration programme.
