The 16th Finance Commission visited West Bengal from 3rd to 5 th December 2024. On 3rd December 2024 the 16th Finance Commission had a meeting with the Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Bandyopadhyay and her Cabinet Colleagues and some of the State Government officials on some pertinent issues. On the same day a cultural programme was held in Taj Bengal in the honour of the 16th Finance Commission. 20 Bauls from North 24 Parganas, South
24 Parganas, Hooghly and Birbhum and 15 Chhou dancers from Purulia participated in this programme. In total 35 folk artistes participated in this programme.
