The awards of Folk and Tribal Cultural Centre were given in four (4) categories at a function at Nazrul Tirtha, New Town on 26th May, 2023 on the occasion of the birthday celebration of Kazi Nazrul Islam. The following awards were given : Lalon Puraskar to 104 years old Abdul Hasib, an eminent and renowned Alkap artiste of Murshidabad district, Thakur Panchanan Barma Puraskar to 80+ year old Smt Budheshwari Roy of Jalpaiguri district for her contribution to Mecheni Gaan, Pandit Raghunath Murmu Puraskar to Somai Kisku of Purba Bardhaman district for his contribution for the development of Santhal Culture and Sudhi Pradhan Puraskar to young talented Chhau dancer Sushanta Mahto of Purulia district.
